The Regina Pats skated out of their slump Wednesday night at the Brandt Centre.

The Pats built up a 4-0 lead, and held on to beat the Brandon Wheat Kings 6-3 before a crowd announced at 4,992.

The victory improved Regina’s record to 32-27-3-1, snapped a four-game losing streak, and tightened their hold on sixth place in the Western Hockey League’s Eastern Conference.
Connor Bedard collected two goals and two assists for the Pats. He now has 63 goals on the season and a league-leading 129 points in 52 games. Tanner Howe also scored twice, with Stanislav Svozil and Brayden Barnett chipping in singles.
Nolan Ritchie, Joby Baumuller and Zakhar Polshakov tallied for Brandon, which falls to 26-30-8-0.
Pats’ goalie Drew Sim stopped 27 of 30 shots in a winning cause.
Pats’ coach John Paddock won his 207th game behind the team’s bench, moving him into second on the franchise list behind Bob Turner (274).
Wednesday’s game begins a hectic stretch for the Pats, who play four contests in five nights. They host the Moose Jaw Warriors Friday at 7 p.m., followed by a Saturday game in Moose Jaw and a Sunday visit to Saskatoon.
